Decorating Home Parties
How can I politely keep the # of people down at my weekly gathering?
I have Wine Wednesday each week. It started with 3 of my close friends and has since grown to include about 25 of my now very close friends. They are polite to everyone and clean up after themselves and each other. Problem is, the # is up to like 40 throughout the night. I personally invite my good friends every week and they are all feeling for me at the mess I have every Thursday morning. We went to a few other friends’ houses, but it’s not the same as my comfortable and beautifully decorated home. We’ve had theme parties w/ costume required but folks I hardly know still come in. I started this so I could be with and share with all my friends but it’s too much work now. How can I politely weed out the folks I don’t invite?
Tell everyone that going forward only people who receive personal invitations from you should attend. You can send it out in a not card to everyone- just kind of like- “Wow- we have had a lot of fun, but my busy schedule will no longer allow me to host such grand gatherings”.
