1. First know anyone and everyone that you can. You will need to be highly connected to be an event planner.
2. Stay organized. If you are not on top of your game and miss deadlines your clients will be pissed.
3. Know a great catering company that you can rely on and build a relationship with them.
4. Know local artists and musicians that can perform at shows.
5. Learn how to market and advertise so that people will want to come to the events that you throw.
6. Build a relationship with a great ad-specialties company that can get you promotional products needed for events.
7. ALWAYS BE ON TIME FOR EVERYTHING.
8. ALWAYS HAVE A BACKUP PLAN! MAYBE 2 OR 3.
9. Learn to use social media to leverage hype for your events.
10. Have the answers before your clients ask them.
