Direct Sales Help
Is direct selling at parties a good source of income?
Hi Everyone,
I just wanted some advice really. I’m in the process of setting up a direct sales company and was wondering if this is a good source of income on a part time basis or even full time.
I’m currently a mum of two small children and looking to get out of the rat race to start my own company.
Is anyone out there currently an Avon Lady or a Mary Kay agent. I just need a bit more reasurance before I finalise everything. I have invested alot of time and effort into this. I think it can work as I haven’t seen it done anywhere else and just need a little push to get me going.
If there is anyone out there that can help, how much did you spend on the start up kit, what was in the start up kit and has it or was it worth your while??

It all depends on where you live , income ranges of the people you know and how many people you know. To be honest I think its a pretty poor way to make money….once you have sold to all your friends -how many more times can you sell them the same thing? -Are they going to want to sell to their friends etc.
If you have to buy everything up front then the outlay can be high for very small profits. Be careful with this one. I once tried selling avon and it cost me more to set up than I made…years ago my mum sold it too and made only a very small amount of money. She also tried party planning with other things …again very little profit involved.
With a unique product it could work …with all the right factors in place and a little luck and a lot of hard work. I hope you don’t think I am being too negative but would hate to see you waste your money.
